The use of Artificial Intelligence in Business

Hello bloggers I am back with my final blog ☹ , I know some of you will be really upset by that news! Today I’m talking about the use of AI in businesses in the modern day, so let’s begin: The use of AI has become increasingly popular and hot topic in terms of some concerns that can arise from it. However, many businesses are using AI to improve their business and make themselves more technologically advanced.           One of the ways in which businesses use AI is through chatbots. According to a Forbes Advisor survey, over 73% of businesses use or plan to use AI- powered chatbots for instant messaging. This can help build customer relationships as they could potentially have any problem, they have solved at any time of the day with 24-hour assistance. An example of a chat-based system would be ChatGPT which can give you answers to a statement you tell it to do, however it can’t make emotional decisions.           Another popul...

Introduction- Who Am I

Hello all, welcome to my first blog post! My name is Sean McInerney I'm doing the Bachelor of Business course specialized in marketing in South East Technological University Waterford and I am in my final year of the course. I am from Kilkenny city and in my previous semester on placement I did International Placement in Montpellier in France from January to the end of March. The Erasmus itself was a bit disappointing and not as good as I had hoped but I’m still glad I did it because it was a once in a lifetime experience.

In Kilkenny I work on a golf course just outside of Kilkenny city and I have been working there for nearly 6 years. Over the years of working there I have seen several changes from staff and how things are done and also the use of technology has advanced in my work. In the beginning there was nearly no use of technology in the business besides a very old till which isn't even a digital touch screen till, it is just an old fashioned button till. However, I was affected by the changes of technology in my work when a new booking system was used. A new website was introduced for customers to book rounds of golf online and be prepaid, while I was given a tablet to use in work which keeps track of all these bookings and tells me how many people are playing and the name on the booking, so now I know how many people to expect and can prepare for them.

Another way information systems have impacted on my work experience I guess would be the organizations hierarchy, being sent on my hours of work or jobs to do etc. from the boss over me and then also myself giving jobs for new workers to do or training them up on the till etc.

I'll be back again with another blog next week, be sure to share and comment if you'd like to find out anything else about me!
